THE PINEAPPLE THIEF ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM 'ALL THE WARS' + COINCIDING UK TOUR!!
The Pineapple Thief are pleased to reveal new album ‘All The Wars’ will be released by Kscope on September 3rd.
This is a band destined for and on the cusp of greater things. A band who have been quietly honing their craft, building bigger and better tours, triumphing at festivals, working with such greats as legendary artist Storm Thorgerson, and recording at Peter Gabriel’s world class Real World Studios.
It hasn’t happened overnight. While many people’s introduction to the Somerset band was their much lauded 2010 album, ‘Someone Here Is Missing’, (or 2008’s ‘Tightly Unwound’), The Pineapple Thief have actually spent the last ten years steadily building up a dedicated fan base across the globe, selling over 50,000 records and nurturing their ‘bittersweet’ progressive sound.
‘All The Wars’ marks another leap in the band’s progression. Frontman/guitarist & producer Bruce Soord has continued to mature as a songwriter and the band’s ever-growing confidence has allowed them to explore bold musical directions, including the use of the Prague Philharmonic 22-piece string section (conducted by Andrew Skeet) and a choir. Soord explains, ‘no expense has been spared regarding the production of this record but at its heart it’s still a rock record. It’s very heavy in parts and very delicate and beautiful in others.’ The majority of the album was recorded at the well known Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, with Mark Bowyer and Steve Kitch.
Music fans can now get their hands on the first brand new track to be unveiled from ‘All The Wars’. Titled ‘Last Man Standing’, you can stream the track or sign up to their mailing list for a free download. Grab it at www.kscopemusic.com/thepineapplethief. Following Storm Thorgerson’s sleeve for the band’s previous record, the artwork for this album features images created by the award winning photographer Mark Mawson, as part of his Aqueous series. Shots from the Aqueous project were recently projected onto Buckingham Palace as the background to Paul McCartney’s performance of ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. (The stunning front cover art is attached.) 'All The Wars’ will be released in multiple formats including a limited edition 2CD digibook and limited edition double heavyweight (180gm) vinyl. The vinyl is packaged in a gatefold cover with printed inner sleeves, especially mastered for audiophile vinyl. TPT fans can also purchase a new t-shirt design including the new album artwork. There are a number of bundles already available for pre-order at: www.kscopemusic.com/thepineapplethief.
The limited edition 2CD digibook version includes the standard record plus exclusive acoustic recordings of songs from the album as well as a 2012 version of ‘Light Up Your Eyes’ (originally released in 2005).
